The Challenge

Exeltis UK's existing site needed a rebuild that could support the compliance requirements of a pharmaceutical product site. As a women's health brand covering contraception, pregnancy and menopause, Exeltis needs to gate certain content to verified healthcare professionals, link to prescribing information wherever a product is mentioned, and give both patients and HCPs a clear route to report adverse events.

That's a lot to get right structurally, and it needed to be built in from the start rather than added on afterwards.

The Solution

We rebuilt Exeltis UK's site on WordPress, (with the help of Hug) supporting on the UI designs.

The compliance functionality a pharmaceutical product site needs is built into the structure rather than bolted on. HCP-only sections carry a professional confirmation step, redirecting anyone who isn't a healthcare professional back to the public site. Every product page links out to Prescribing Information, the Patient Information Leaflet and the Summary of Product Characteristics. Adverse event reporting connects to the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme alongside Exeltis's own pharmacovigilance contacts, and an exit disclaimer flags whenever a visitor is about to leave the Exeltis site for a third-party link.

The result is a site Exeltis can stand behind from a compliance standpoint, without getting in the way of a clean user experience.
